Why start a foundation?

CPS originally started as a training consultancy in Aden, Yemen in 2008. Throughout this time, CPS has developed strong relationships with local NGOs and community groups across the country.

Since then, Yemen has witnessed unprecedented challenges – war, famine, trauma and economic crisis.

CPS was seeking to address these needs through large scale conflict resolution and prevention programs (such as this one we ran in 2015) but realised that to truly make an impact with lasting legacy it was time to establish the CPS Foundation for Development as a not for profit foundation based in Aden to more effectively partner with local and international NGOs to respond to the pressing humanitarian needs the country is facing.

What does the foundation do?

The vision of the CPS Foundation is “to help people improve the lives of Yemenis and co-operate to make a positive impact in their communities”.

The CPS Foundation has been providing emergency relief and trauma counselling to communities suffering civil war and at extreme risk of famine. In partnership with CPS Norway, Egypt and Australia, together we have raised over US$400,000 towards supporting CPS Foundation projects.
